The Early Start

For our Certified Care professionals, the day begins with purpose. The alarm sounds at 6:00 AM, and after a quick cup of tea, they’re ready to make a difference. The first client visit is typically scheduled for 7:00 AM, often to help an elderly person start their day with dignity and comfort.

Tahmina, one of our dedicated carer who has been with Certified Care for four years, shares: “My morning routine sets me up for success. I know that from the moment I arrive at my first client’s home, I’m representing Certified Care’s commitment to exceptional support.”

Morning Rounds

The morning schedule is carefully coordinated by our care coordinators to ensure efficient routes and appropriate time allocation. Between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM, our carers typically visit about four clients, with each visit lasting from 30 minutes to two hours depending on the individual’s care plan.

At Certified Care, we train our professionals to provide comprehensive morning support including:

  • Assisting clients with getting out of bed and personal hygiene routines
  • Medication management and recording
  • Preparing nutritious breakfasts aligned with dietary requirements
  • Conducting prescribed mobility exercises tailored to each client
  • Maintaining home cleanliness and safety

What sets Certified Care apart is our person-centered approach. We match our carers’ personalities and specialties with clients’ needs, ensuring genuine connections form alongside professional care delivery.

The Midday Support

By lunchtime, our care professionals have already made a significant impact on their clients’ days. This period involves meal preparation, medication administration, and meaningful social interaction and companionship. For many clients, especially elderly individuals living alone, their Certified Care visit is often the social highlight of their day.

Orvi, a Certified Care professional who specializes in supporting people with disabilities, explains:

“At Certified Care, we understand that emotional connection is just as crucial as physical support.

The conversations I have with clients are guided by our relationship-centered care approach, ensuring everyone feels truly heard and valued.”

Afternoon Care

Our afternoon care visits might include:

  • Supporting clients with meaningful activities
  • Accompanying them to medical appointments
  • Facilitating shopping or community groups and activity participation
  • Providing respite for family carers
  • Preparing nutritious evening meals

For our live-in care professionals, afternoons include scheduled breaks while remaining available for urgent needs, maintaining the perfect balance of support and independence that defines the Certified Care approach.

Here’s a recent review from a client:

“I cannot speak highly enough of the care & support my mum has received from home care. From the very beginning, the team has been professional, compassionate towards my mum. Every carer has been kind & respectful and attentive to her needs.”

Tea Time Visits

Between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, Certified Care professionals conduct Tea Time Visits. These visits have become one of our most appreciated services,  providing essential care and support.

During our Signature Tea Time Visits, our care professionals:

  • Prepare traditional afternoon tea
  • Supporting exercise routines, which is particularly vital for elderly clients
  • Providing repositioning support with our Comfort-First approach to ensure optimal positioning and relaxation
  • Facilitating personalized activities including favourite games and hobbies based on preferences recorded in their care plans
  • Conduct emotional wellbeing check-ins

For clients with dementia, tea time visits provides opportunities for therapeutic activities. The familiar sensory experience, for example the aroma of freshly brewed tea or the taste of traditional treats activates our clients’ positive memories and provides meaningful comfort. Our experience dementia champion, Mary shares:

“Understanding each client’s life story is crucial to providing personalised support.”

During tea time visits, we incorporate familiar rituals that help ground our clients in positive memories, significantly reducing anxiety as evening approaches.

We also facilitate Family Connection during these visits, allowing family members to participate in this cherished daily ritual either in person or virtually.

Evening Support

As day transitions to evening, our care professionals return to morning clients to provide comforting evening routines. Our evening care includes:

  • Preparing nutritious evening meals and snacks
  • Supporting personal hygiene
  • Administering evening medications
  • Implementing our Comfort-to-Sleep protocols for peaceful nights
  • Conducting home security checks before departure

For clients experiencing sundowning or evening anxiety, our Certified Care professionals employ specialized techniques to ensure comfort and safety.

The Certified Care Difference: Beyond Visible Care

What distinguishes Certified Care is our commitment to excellence in every aspect of care delivery, including the less visible elements:

  • Each client is allocated their dedicated small team of carers, to ensure consistent and trusted familiar face daily
  • Effective working relationship is built between the clients and their carers
  • Carers have a deep understanding of their clients needs and can spot changes quickly and act responsively
  • Detailed documentation through our secure digital care management system
  • Proactive communication with family members, healthcare professionals involved, and our care coordination team
  • Optimized travel routes to maximize time spent with clients
  • Specialized training in emergency response and unexpected situations
  • Professional boundaries combined with genuine compassion

At Certified Care, our documentation is not just about compliance, it’s about transparency and effective communication with families, giving them access to our digital system with consent, for timely updates on their loved one. It also ensures continuity of care, so if a client’s condition changes, the entire care team is immediately informed, facilitating prompt intervention.

Here’s a comment from Marie, the daughter of our client:

“The communication from the management team has been outstanding, they keep us well informed and quick to respond to my queries. It gives the whole family peace of mind knowing she is in such safe hands.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does Certified Care ensure consistency when different carers visit?

We maintain consistency through:

  • A secure digital care system that gives all carers access to detailed client profiles and real-time updates
  • Assigning a limited team to each client rather than constantly rotating staff
  • Thorough documentation of all client interactions and preferences
  • Regular care review meetings to adapt to changing needs
  • Care manager oversight to maintain our high standards

This approach ensures that even if your regular carer is unavailable, another team member can provide care that aligns perfectly with your established routines and preferences.

What training do Certified Care professionals receive?

All our care professionals receive training that exceeds industry standards, including:

  • Person-centered care approaches
  • Specialized dementia care
  • Emergency response techniques
  • Digital documentation skills
  • Nutritional support knowledge
  • Professional boundaries with compassionate engagement

Our care team members also benefit from ongoing professional development, ensuring they’re equipped to provide exceptional care throughout each client’s day.

How do Certified Care's services allow elderly people to remain independent at home?

Our person-centered approach is designed to support independence while providing necessary assistance. We create customized care plans that respect each client’s preferences and routines, offering help only where needed. Our carers assist with daily activities like meal preparation, medication management, and personal care while encouraging clients to maintain their independence in other areas.
