How we achieve our aims

To achieve our objectives and effectively support young people in their transition to independent living, Certified Care will implement the following strategies:

Building Healthy Relationships:

Encourage young people to develop positive relationships by providing guidance and support around social interactions. Offer group activities, team-building exercises, and social skills training to help them recognize the value of healthy connections. Mentoring programs and community-building initiatives can also foster lasting friendships and interpersonal skills.

Addressing Past Traumas:

Provide a safe, supportive space for young people to process and heal from past traumas. This can be achieved through access to professional counseling, trauma-informed care, and advocacy services when needed. Collaboration with mental health specialists will ensure they receive the appropriate support to overcome emotional challenges and begin their healing journey.

Active Care Planning:

Involve young people in the creation and ongoing review of their Care and Pathway Plans. This personalized approach fosters ownership and accountability, ensuring that each individual is engaged in setting and achieving their goals. Regular progress check-ins and support will help them stay on track and make necessary adjustments as they grow.

Developing Life Skills:

Provide practical training in essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and emotional management. This hands-on approach helps young people gain the confidence to handle everyday responsibilities, preparing them for independent living. Life skills workshops and one-on-one coaching will ensure they have the tools to manage their personal and household needs.

Building Emotional Resilience:

Equip young people with strategies to recognize and manage emotional triggers. Offer workshops and coaching on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and stress management to build emotional resilience. Support them in understanding their feelings and building self-awareness, empowering them to handle challenges with strength and confidence.

Encouraging Support-Seeking:

Promote a culture of seeking help and accessing support when needed. Encourage young people to reach out to trusted adults, counselors, or external services to address any concerns before they feel overwhelmed. Create an open-door policy and a strong support network to ensure they always feel confident in reaching out when they need assistance.
